Cuatrecasas has approved the appointment of Manuel Gómez Fajardo as a new partner in the Energy, Infrastructure and Public Law practices at its Bogotá office. In addition to supporting the Firm’s strategy of fostering the professional development of its lawyers, this designation reflects Cuatrecasas’ relevance in sectors that have become pillars of Colombia’s economic and social development.
Manuel Gómez Fajardo brings more than 15 years of professional experience advising national and multinational companies in the energy, gas and public utilities sectors, with a strong focus on regulatory, contractual and public constitutional and administrative law matters. He has also represented clients in the structuring of projects and business models; in the drafting and negotiation of key industry contracts (including PPAs, GSAs, EPC, O&M, connection agreements and commercial representation agreements, among others); and in the design of regulatory strategies, as well as in strategic litigation for the sector.

Gómez Fajardo holds a law degree from Universidad del Rosario (Colombia) and a Master of Laws awarded with distinction by The London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a professor of regulatory theory, regulation of public utilities, energy and gas regulation, and public procurement in master’s and specialisation programmes at Universidad del Rosario and Universidad de La Sabana. He also regularly participates as a panellist and moderator at various industry events.
