Ellenoff Grossman & Schole LLP (EGS) has announced that veteran labor and employment attorney Netanel Newberger has joined the firm as a partner in its Labor & Employment Practice Group in New York.
Newberger brings more than 20 years of experience representing employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters, including employment litigation and counseling, traditional labor matters, collective bargaining, wage-and-hour disputes and workplace investigations.
He represents both unionized and non-unionized employers and regularly counsels companies on day-to-day workplace issues involving hiring, discipline and termination, leaves of absence, employee policies, employment agreements and severance.

Newberger has extensive experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements and representing employers in unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. His traditional labor practice also includes union arbitrations in the hospitality industry, where he has represented several prominent New York City hotels. He has represented companies in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies in matters involving discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour claims and other workplace disputes. He has also argued appeals before the New York State Appellate Division, First and Second Departments, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Newberger began his career in traditional labor law, representing unions and employees in grievances, arbitrations and federal and state court litigation before transitioning to representing employers and management. That experience on both sides of labor-management relations continues to inform his approach to counseling employers and resolving workplace disputes.
Newberger is a graduate of Yeshiva University (1998), magna cum laude, and earned his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (2002). He is admitted to practice before the courts of the States of New York and New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.
