TPG’s Investment in Troon

Kirkland & Ellis advised TPG Capital on the deal.

TPG Capital, the private equity platform of alternative asset firm TPG, announced its significant strategic investment in Troon, the leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services.

TPG Capital is joined by Symphony Ventures, the investment fund of professional golfer Rory McIlroy, who has agreed to invest in the company in partnership with TPG. The new investment provides Troon with additional capital, resources, and expertise to build on its market leading position. Existing investor Leonard Green & Partners will retain a significant investment in the business. The transaction is expected to close in December 2021 and is subject to customary closing conditions. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Kirkland team was led by corporate partners Maggie Flores (Picture), Michael Weisser and Randy Santa Ana and associate Alec Manzer, tax partners Jared Rusman and William Dong, and debt finance partners Jason Kanner and Omar Raddawi.
