RSBG SE’s Expanding Its Advanced Manufacturing Division

An international CMS team advised RSBG SE on all legal aspects of the transactions.

RSBG SE, the investment company of the RAG-Stiftung foundation, is expanding its Advanced Manufacturing division.

The company recently acquired 100% of the shares in Multiphoton Optics GmbH (MPO), a specialist provider in the micro-optics field. This was followed by the acquisition of Surface Nano Analysis GmbH (SPECS), a technology leader in developing equipment for producing advanced semiconductor structures. Details of the transactions were not disclosed.

Würzburg-based Multiphoton Optics GmbH is regarded as a pioneer in two-photon lithography. The company was established in 2013 as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC.

Surface Nano Analysis GmbH has its headquarters in Berlin. It is acknowledged globally as a technology and market leader in the development, manufacture and application of surface analysis components and systems. The company employs around 140 people and operates subsidiaries in the US, Russia, China and Switzerland.

The CMS team was headed by Dr Malte Bruhns (Picture) and further included Katharina Franitza, Matthias Engelen, Christoph Schröer, Ramon Weistroffer, Martin-Oliver Nonnast, Kai Neuhaus, Patricia Jares, Michael Kamps, Thorsten Hemme, Dr Nikolas Gregor, Lisa Wernecke, Stephan Werlen, Alexandra Stocker, Dr Falk Lichtenstein, Roxie Meng, Dr Thomas Heidemann, Viktoria Shcherba, assisted by Joe de Lisle from Miller & Martin.
