Winston Taylor announced the addition of Daniel Valencia as a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department in Washington, D.C., where he will serve as the chair of the firm’s ITC Practice.
Daniel represents clients in high-stakes, cross-border intellectual property and trade disputes. He has tried cases before judges and juries and has briefed and argued appeals at the Federal Circuit. Drawing on a background in electronics, Daniel brings a technical perspective to complex IP matters, helping clients navigate sophisticated patent and trade issues.

Daniel has extensive experience in Section 337 proceedings before the International Trade Commission (ITC), and previously served as a trial attorney, appellate counsel, and advisor at the Commission. Leveraging his understanding of the agency’s process, he advises clients appearing before the ITC and on related Customs and Border Protection enforcement.

Daniel began his career as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office after working in the semiconductor industry, holds an electrical engineering degree, and is licensed in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
