Leading independent law firm Farrer & Co has announced the appointment of Fiona Lowrie as Senior Counsel in its Financial Services & Funds team, effective 27 April.
Fiona rejoins the firm following a period in-house, most recently as General Counsel at C. Hoare & Co. She previously worked at Farrer & Co as a Knowledge Lawyer within the Financial Services & Funds team, giving her a deep understanding of the regulatory challenges facing clients across the financial services sector.
Her appointment supports the continued expansion of the Financial Services & Funds team, which has grown revenues by more than 30% over the past five years. The team advises a wide range of regulated businesses operating in and from the UK, including banks & wealth, asset managers & investment funds, payment services providers, fintechs and other regulated businesses. It is recognised for its expertise across the UK financial services regulatory landscape, covering both regulatory matters as well as acting on the establishment and operation of investment funds.
Grania Baird, Head of Financial Services & Funds at Farrer & Co, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome Fiona back to the firm. Her deep understanding of the regulatory environment, combined with her recent in-house experience at a leading private bank, will be invaluable to our clients. Fiona’s return reflects both the strength of our team and the continued growth of our Financial Services & Funds practice.”
Fiona Lowrie added:
“I am very pleased to be returning to Farrer & Co at such an exciting time for the firm and the Financial Services & Funds team. The firm’s collaborative culture and its focus on delivering clear, practical advice to clients were key factors in my decision to return, and I am looking forward to contributing to the team’s ongoing success.”
Fiona’s appointment further strengthens Farrer & Co’s financial services offering, as clients navigate an increasingly complex and fast?evolving legal and regulatory environment.
