CH Law announces the expansion of its Tax practice with the addition of two new partners, a move that reinforces the firm’s positioning in advising companies on structured transactions, tax planning, and the management of tax risks.
This expansion comes at a time of increasing sophistication in tax-related demands, where fiscal decisions directly impact business structures, competitiveness, and operational security. In this context, CH Law consolidates its practice by integrating new leadership with complementary experience and a strong connection to the business environment.
Paulo Bento, with over 30 years of experience in Tax Law, joins the partnership as one of the key strategic additions to the practice, bringing to CH Law – Chodraui e Hohl Advogados a unique combination of seniority, business acumen, and solid experience in highly complex transactions.
Throughout his career, he has built a distinguished track record as a partner and tax leader at some of the most prominent law firms in Brazil. He served as partner and head of the tax practice at BMA – Barbosa Müssnich Aragão for approximately five years, in addition to having spent over ten years as a partner at Cescon Barrieu. He has also been part of leading teams such as Machado Meyer Advogados and, more recently, Madrona Advogados, where he practiced prior to joining CH Law.
With a focus on tax planning for both local and cross-border transactions, as well as wealth planning, his practice covers a wide range of structures and transactions, involving both publicly held and privately held companies, family groups, and investment funds. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in significant transactions, including asset sales, joint ventures, business combinations, corporate restructurings, foreign investments, debt structures, and other typical market transactions.
Recognized in the market for his strategic vision, he stands out for his ability to structure efficient and secure solutions, combining technical excellence with the ability to navigate complex tax scenarios with precision.
Rômulo Ivan Menezes Oliveira also joins as a partner in the Tax practice, with a focus on indirect taxes, administrative and judicial tax litigation, as well as experience in M&A and tax compliance. His background as a tax legal executive in multinational companies adds a practical perspective to the management of tax risks and to the interface between legal, financial, and business areas.
With these additions, CH Law expands its capabilities in handling complex tax matters, combining strategic vision, technical depth, and close alignment with clients’ operations.
“The expansion of our tax practice reflects a natural evolution of CH Law. We are strengthening an area that is increasingly central to business decision-making, with professionals who share our approach—close to the client and solution-oriented,” says Victor Chodraui, founding partner of the firm.
