SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz has appointed Dr. Dietmar Schulz as partner, further expanding its restructuring and turnaround practice.
Dr. Schulz (54) is among the leading experts in restructuring, reorganization, and insolvency-related advisory work. Prior to joining SZA, he headed the restructuring practice at a major international law firm. He advises companies, management teams, financing parties, and investors in crisis situations, with a particular focus on complex out-of-court restructurings, StaRUG proceedings, insolvency plans, and the structuring of financing and investment solutions. His experience also includes advising on NPL transactions and distressed M&A. Dr. Schulz’s expertise at the intersection of financing structures and operational turnaround further enhances SZA’s advisory offering.
Based in Munich and Frankfurt, Dr. Schulz will work closely with the firm’s established interdisciplinary restructuring and insolvency team. In recent years, SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz has advised numerous companies, investors, and insolvency administrators on complex restructurings, special situations, and cross-border distressed transactions. The firm’s distressed client base ranges from large listed corporations to medium-sized industrial companies and international financial investors. Recent mandates include pre-insolvency advice to air taxi manufacturer Volocopter and the successful completion of the investor process in the insolvency proceedings of the Vollert Group.
“With the addition of Dr. Schulz, we are strengthening our advisory services to meet the growing demand from companies, credit institutions, and investors for early, structured, and legally secure crisis management, thereby consolidating our position as a specialist partner for issues relating to corporate crises and restructuring,” says partner Prof. Dr. Jochem Reichert.
“With Dr. Dietmar Schulz, we are gaining a partner who will expand our strong restructuring and insolvency practice with a highly qualified focus on preventive crisis consulting. This will enable us to provide our clients with even more comprehensive support throughout the entire crisis cycle – from preventive restructuring and reorganization to classic insolvency,” says partner Dr. Marc Löbbe.
Dr. Schulz adds: “I am delighted to contribute my expertise to SZA and to actively drive forward the strategic expansion of the restructuring practice. The firm is ideally positioned to provide optimal support for the steadily growing demand for restructuring advice in the German economy.”
