Womble Bond Dickinson has announced that Houston Office Managing Partner Jeff Whittle has been appointed to the firm’s Global Board for a two-year term.
The Global Board guides, manages, and fosters cooperation between the firm’s operations in the U.K. and U.S., ensuring a consistent client experience across the firm’s global reach.
“Our clients’ business gets more global seemingly by the day,” Whittle said. “Law firms will only succeed if they are prepared to serve clients operating in the global market. Thankfully, Womble is well-prepared for this challenge, and the Global Board is at the forefront of these efforts. I am honored to join this outstanding group of partners in helping ensure we continue to meet our clients’ needs.”
Whittle, Head of the firm’s Global Energy and Natural Resources Industry Sector, advises energy and high-tech sector clients on strategic and complex technology merger and acquisition transactions, licensing, patent, trademark, and copyright protection, IP portfolio analysis, and other contentious and transactional matters.
“Energy and Natural Resources is a global sector, and Jeff’s leadership in this field makes him an ideal candidate to join our Global Board,” said Temple. “For example, he recently has helped expand the firm’s work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and even worked out of Saudi Arabia for several weeks. Welcome to the Global Board, Jeff!”
Whittle replaces Chris Mammen, who will continue advising the board on various issues, including artificial intelligence. Other U.S.-based board members include CEO and Chair Betty Temple and partners Merrick Benn, Mary Bourke, Randy Hanson, Chris Jones, and Dean Rutley.
