Clark Hill announced that it has added Myriah Jaworski and Chirag Patel to its Cybersecurity and Data Privacy practice group.
Jaworski joins as a Member while Patel is Senior Counsel, and both will associate with West Coast offices to expand the group’s geographic reach.
“Clark Hill is a first-in-class data privacy and cybersecurity practice, and I am excited to join the Firm to support its continued growth in the data compliance and privacy litigation space,” Jaworski said.
Jaworski, a former Department of Justice trial attorney and 2022 Law 360 Rising Star, specializes in privacy litigation, data breach defense, cyber subrogation, and commercial surveillance claims.
“There’s an increased demand at Clark Hill for enterprise-wide data privacy and governance services, and no shortage of businesses facing novel privacy claims and technology disputes. We plan to round out the firm’s cybersecurity and data privacy team with these capabilities” Jaworski said. “For both of us, the reason for moving our practice was to have the added capabilities and bench strength of a full-service and global privacy and cybersecurity team.”
Patel has extensive federal court cyber litigation experience, including recently first-chairing a federal trial concerning a misdirected wire transfer and business email compromise, defending an app developer in a first-of-its-kind cyberbullying case, and resolving a complex software implementation claim.
“I work with clients to address operational challenges from newly emerging privacy laws and represent them in cyber and technology-related disputes,” Patel said.
Jaworski and Patel also counsel clients on the implementation of new technologies, including artificial intelligence and automated tools, product and app design, privacy impact assessments and data transfer agreements, and data due diligence in mergers and acquisitions.
