ARQIS wins two Counsel for public law and tax

ARQIS continues to focus on growth. As part of the implementation of its new law firm strategy, ARQIS is strengthening itself with public lawyer Dr. Friedrich Gebert (36) and tax advisor Jens Knipping (36). Both support the orientation as a focused full-service law firm with their many years of expertise and join as Counsel.

Gebert moves from the public law boutique Posser Spieth Wolfers & Partners in May and is building up public commercial law at ARQIS. He started his career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in the public law team, from which the boutique spun off in 2018. He has proven experience in large-scale environmental and regulatory projects, litigation and transactions, particularly on issues surrounding the EU Green Deal, which is increasingly impacting many areas of business life with sustainability goals.

He thus complements the advisory services offered by the focus group Risk in the area of compliance with future-relevant public law aspects (public compliance) and also expands the areas of activity of the growing litigation practice at ARQIS. At the same time, ARQIS now also provides in-house expertise in public law, which is important in the transaction area.

Jens Knipping (36) joined ARQIS in April from the Düsseldorf office of Warth & Klein Grant Thornton. There, as a senior manager, he was part of the transaction tax team with a focus on national and international M&A transactions, primarily of medium-sized clients. In addition to supporting the Transactions focus group, Knipping will work in the (M&A) Insurance area within the Risk focus group, where he will continue to expand advice on the insurability of tax risks.

“With Dr. Gebert and Mr. Knipping, we are significantly strengthening our transaction practice,” says Dr. Jörn-Christian Schulze, head of the focus group Transactions at ARQIS. “Public law is becoming increasingly important in transactions and without tax competence, which up to now we have only had in Munich, it has not been possible for a long time. Therefore, we are very pleased about the addition of our colleagues.” Dr. Mirjam Boche, head of the focus group Risk, continues: “With Dr. Gebert and Mr. Knipping, we are gaining absolute experts who will further expand our advisory services on insurance, compliance and litigation with their know-how. We warmly welcome them!”
