PDI’s Acquisition of Universe Group

PDI announced that that it had agreed to acquire Universe Group plc, a British financial technology company.

Headquartered in Texas, PDI is a portfolio company of Insight Partners, with each of Genstar Capital and TA Associates having a minority stake in PDI. PDI helps convenience retailers and petroleum wholesalers thrive through digital transformation and enterprise software. Over 1,500 customers in more than 200,000 locations worldwide utilise PDI’s leading ERP, logistics, fuel pricing and marketing cloud solutions to provide insights that increase volume, margin and customer loyalty.

Universe, traded on AIM (a market of the London Stock Exchange), is a leading financial technology company which designs, develops and supports point of sale, payment and online loyalty solutions and systems for the petrol forecourt and convenience store markets in the United Kingdom. 

The transaction is being effected by way of a UK Scheme of Arrangement and is expected to close in early 2022.
