Sun King’s $260 Million Series D Funding Round

Freshfields advised BeyondNetZero on the deal.

BeyondNetZero acted as lead investor in the $260m Series D funding round of Sun King (formerly Greenlight Planet), the largest provider of solar energy products for off-grid homes in Africa and Asia.

BeyondNetZero is the climate investing venture of General Atlantic. BeyondNetZero’s investment strategy focuses on decarbonization, energy efficiency, resource conservation and emissions management.

The multi-jurisdictional and cross-practice Freshfields team on the matter involved colleagues from the US, Dubai, London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and China.
