Scotts Miracle-Gro’s US$34 Million Acquisition of Cyco Nutrients

Scotts Miracle-Gro / Hawthorne Gardening Co (NSYE:SMG) acquired Cyco Nutrients for US$34 million (plus contingent US$10 million). 

Scotts sees the Cyco deal as a strategic move to expand Hawthorne’s nutrients and growing media line as well as the availability of the Cyco brand in North America.

Cyco is a premium brand of hydroponic nutrients, plant additives and growing media used by commercial and domestic growers around the world.  The business has grown from an Australian start-up to a global brand with an international footprint and global sales and distribution network. 

Scotts Miracle-Gro is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Marysville, Ohio. The company manufactures and sells consumer lawn, garden and pest control products.
