Mark Patton Named Tucson Office Managing Partner

Womble Bond Dickinson has appointed veteran real estate partner Mark Patton to serve as the firm’s Tucson Office Managing Partner, effective April 1, 2025. Patton has built a distinguished career advising businesses on high-stakes real estate and corporate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, joint ventures, and private placements. His extensive experience in multifamily real estate and corporate restructuring, combined with his background as a former CPA, provides clients with a sharp legal and financial perspective.

“Mark’s leadership and deep understanding of business and real estate law make him an ideal choice to lead our Tucson office. Under his guidance, we are confident the office will continue to grow and serve as a key resource for clients across Southern Arizona,” said Merrick Benn, Chair and CEO of Womble Bond Dickinson.

The Tucson office was one of five locations added to Womble’s footprint as part of its January 1 merger with Lewis Roca, a strategic move that brought 220 attorneys and expanded the firm’s presence across Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada. Attorneys in that office advise clients in real estate, healthcare, and aerospace and defense – industries central to Tucson’s economy. In his new role, Patton will focus on expanding the office’s capabilities, strengthening client relationships, and further integrating the team into Womble’s platform.

“I’m honored to step into this role and further strengthen our firm’s presence in Tucson,” said Patton. “With the city’s thriving business community and our firm’s new global platform, we have a unique opportunity to expand our services and deepen client relationships. I look forward to collaborating with our team to help our clients succeed and make a lasting, positive impact in the region.”

Patton is widely recognized in the legal community, including his listing in The Best Lawyers in America for Real Estate and Mergers & Acquisitions Law. He is a founding board member and past president of the Southern Arizona Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society and has served on multiple nonprofit boards. He has also mentored for Invest Southwest and taught business law and federal taxation at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management.
