General Atlantic’s $498 Million Investment in Reliance’s Retail Business

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison snf Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co advised General Atlantic on the deal, while Davis Polk advised Reliance Industries Limited and Reliance Retail Ventures Limited.

General Atlantic completed its investment of INR 36.75 billion ($498.31 million) in Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Ltd, India’s largest private sector company. The transaction is subject to regulatory and other customary approvals.

Reliance Retail Limited, a subsidiary of RRVL, operates India’s largest, fastest growing and most profitable retail business, with approximately 12,000 stores.
