DeepMatter’s Acquisition Of InfoChem GmbH

Bristows advised DeepMatter Group Plc on the deal.

DeepMatter Group, a Glasgow-based big data and analysis company, is acquiring German chemical software company Infochem GmbH from science publisher Springer Nature for €2 million in cash and shares.

The company also announced that it intends to raise £3m, via a share placing at 2.5p per share. Irrevocable undertakings for at least £3m have already been received.

Munich-based Infochem has a 25-strong payroll selling chemical data management software to some of the world’s largest pharmaceuticals companies, including Astrazeneca and BASF.

Bristows advised DeepMatter Group Plc on the deal with a Corporate team led by Partner Iain Redford (picture), assisted by Associate Emma Charlton. Senior Associate Julia Cockroft provided tax advice to DeepMatter and Senior Associate Rebecca Andersen provided commercial and IP/IT advice.
