Argentina’s Compania General de Combustibles (CGC) acquired Sinopec Argentina Exploration and Production – the local unit of China Petroleum & Chemical Corp.
The deal includes Sinopec’s assets in Patagonia’s San Jorge and Cuyana basins, and means CGC is now one of the top-five oil and gas producers in Argentina.
CGC is one of the main gas transport operatives in the nation, through its shareholding in TGN, GasAndes and TGM, with 7,540 km of national gas ducts, and interconnections with Brazil, Chile, and Bolivia.
