BioMar’s Acquisition of AQ1 Systems

Piper Alderman advised AQ1 Systems on the sale of its world leading acoustic shrimp and fish feeding technology business to Danish global fish feed company, BioMar.

Following the successful entrance into the shrimp feed market, the board of BioMar approves the acquisition of Tasmania-based AQ1 Systems, the world’s leading producer of acoustic feeding technology for the shrimp farming industry. With the investment, BioMar aims to accelerate the sustainability journey of the industry.

AQ1 will continue as an independent company with its own commercial set-up, business systems, and distribution channels, servicing both BioMar customers and customers with other feed providers.

AQ1 Systems is the world leading supplier of sensor based feeding control technology for aquaculture.
